Rob Scott Tapped To Be The New Head Football Coach
A Superior Homecoming As Scott Returns To Lead The SHS Football Program
SUPERIOR, WI - It's a Superior homecoming for one lifelong Spartan, as Rob Scott returns to Northern Wisconsin as the new head football coach for Superior High School. Scott has spent the last three seasons as the head football coach for Eau Claire Memorial. The School District of Superior would like to thank former coach Bob Demeyer for his 19 years of dedication to the program and wishes him well in retirement.
From 2006-2021, Scott was a Superior educator and Spartan football coach in multiple capacities. Most notably, Scott was the SHS Assistant Head Coach and Defensive Coordinator in his final eight seasons with the program. During the 2019 season, Scott helped guide Superior to the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association Division 1 State Semifinals.
“Being the Head Coach of Spartan Football is a very special opportunity,” said Scott. “Coaching in the footsteps of legends Coach DeMeyer, Coach Mestelle, Coach Hoff, and many other great head and assistant coaches is a true honor. I could not be happier to lead the next chapter of the storied and proud tradition that many have built-in Superior! A UW-Superior alum, Scott received his Bachelor of Science in Teaching Physical Education (2003) and Master in Education (2006). He has certifications as a Mental Performance Master Coach (2023) and an Elite Coaches Master Mind (2023). Scott previously coached Superior baseball and was the area youth football director. Starting in the fall of 2024, Scott will be a Superior High School Physical Education teacher.
Superior football will begin practicing in August, followed by its season opener on August 23rd against Wausau East. The Spartans are a part of the Big Rivers Conference and are a WIAA Division 1 school.
